So when it comes to figuring out your diode or tow bar wiring when you're setting up your Jeep to be flat towed, there's quite a few options out there. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster Smart Diodes for towed vehicles on a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. Your Smart Diodes are going to tie into the lights on your vehicle and via wires running up to the front attached to a six-pole. And that way, when you hook your umbilical cord up to your RV, it's gonna transmit your light signals. So, when you have your running lights on, your turn signals or brake lights, it's gonna illuminate these and that's gonna keep you safe and legal, letting people behind you know what you're doing. Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2022 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit on a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. Now this is available in a bunch of different options based on your needs. So if your tow bar doesn't have an umbilical, you can actually pick it up with a coiled cable or a straight cable. Also, you can pick up the wiring bundle without any connectors, or some of them actually have the 4 pole on the front. It's kind of up to you, what you wanna choose. Now there's five main components that are required when flat towing a vehicle and the first one we'll start off with is the base plate and that's gonna actually attach to the vehicle via the bumper mounts or the chassis and it's gonna be a secure mount for us to be able to attach our tow bar and the tow bar is gonna be the second component and that's gonna make the connection point between your base plate and the actual towing of the RV. more

Hi there Jeep owners, Standard 2021 Jeep Cherokee, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster Smart Diode wiring kit for models that have LED lights. Our Smart Diode Wiring kit is gonna take the lighting signals from our motor home and transfer them here to the back of our vehicle so that the people behind us will know our intentions when we're flat towing our vehicle down the road. You can see that the hazard lights I've got them turned on in our motor home and as it flashes there, it also flashes here in the back and mimics the signal. Now it is gonna be a little bit different than your natural lighting when you're driving the vehicle around. The Jeep here, if it has the park sense, which we do have park sense on this Jeep here. It's required to have the smart diode kit instead of a regular diode kit. more

Hi there, Jeep owners. Today, on your 2020 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's diode wiring kit.Now, there's four different kits available. You can get those with a four pole connector end, which is just going to give you the necessary stuff for your lighting. And there's also three six pole versions available, which will give you all of your lighting and provide some additional slots for accessories that you may want to add in the future. These three different ones, they're all basically the same, but you can get it with either a coily cable, which is ideal if you have a tow bar that doesn't have any cable management, a straight cable option, which is great if you have cable management, so you can route it through those channels, and there's also a hybrid version, because if you have a high/low adapter in things that extend it out, you may need a straight cable for your cable management, but then a slight coil end to ensure that the rest doesn't dip on the road.There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle. more

Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2018 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Hi there, Cherokee owners. Today on our 2018 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Plug and Play Diode Wiring Harness. This Diode wiring harness is going to take all of the lighting signals from your motor home and transfer them back to the lights here on the back of your vehicle. The diode wiring makes sure that those signals that are coming back to your lights only illuminate the lights and do not back feed into your vehicle, which protects it from any damage that could potentially occur.What I really like about this harness versus other kits out there that has diodes that you can install to get the same effect is this kit is custom designed for your Cherokee, so it's nice and plug and play. You remove your taillight assemblies, you plug them in, you just route the wire up to the front and you're ready to go. A lot of those other ones, you have to cut the wiring in your vehicle, which could potentially void warranties depending on the age of your vehicle. more

Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System Installation - 2019 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Speaker 1: Today, on this 2019 Jeep Cherokee, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System with a Four-Pole Connector, part number TR118821.Now, in conjunction with our diode wiring harness, we also use a Roadmaster 7 to 6 Coil Kit. That'll give us the six-way connector that we have on the front of our vehicle, and give us a seven to six-way coil cord. We'll have the six-way end going into the front of the Cherokee, and the seven-way on our motor home.This is great because not only can you run your turn signals, your brake lights and your tail lights, but you can also run a charge line kit to charge your vehicle's battery. If you have a braking system with an indicator light on it, inside the motor home, you can run the indicator light wire through the six-way connector, through one of the unused terminals, and run that as well. You can have all those functions at the same time.Now, our six-way connector is great because we have this nice spring-loaded door on it which not only will protect it from the elements when it's not in use, but it'll also help hold our wiring plug in place when we are flat towing our Cherokee. We can easily remove the coiled end just by using the two finger hooks here and pulling out. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Jeep Cherokee, we're gonna take a look at and show you how to install the Roadmaster 7-wire to 6-wire Flexo-Coil Diode Wiring Kit for towed vehicles. Part number is RM-15267.Now this wiring kit's gonna be the perfect solution for towing your vehicle behind your motor home, and having the appropriate signals on the back. We've got our Flexo-Coil here, passes those signals through so whether we're hitting the brakes in our Coach, we have on our running lights or our turn signals, that's gonna show up on the back of the vehicle. The Flexo-Coil design will expand and contract as you can see, so we won't have to worry about it hanging down on the ground, but as we make our initial pull away from our vehicle when it's connected, it's gonna extend to the exact length that we need.Now the benefit of a wiring system that has diodes included will be that those are gonna isolate our RV from our vehicle so we won't have any type of back feeding. We can take a closer look at them now.So now what we've been able to do using our diode is take the signal from our RV, it comes in here, and the factory signal from our vehicle. That is then going to be converted to a single output, so whether the signal comes from the RV, it's allowed to pass directly through and go out and light our bulb. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins custom taillight wiring kit for towed vehicles, part number HM56208. So here's what our wiring looks like once we have it installed. Do want to mention we chose to put a different style connector in the four pole flat, which is sold separately. What this is going to allow us to do is it's going to allow us to accept our RV's taillight signals, brake and turn signals and use them in conjunction with our vehicles taillights without having to worry about putting the magnetic lights on our vehicle.What you're really going to like about our wiring is that it's a custom fit for our vehicle, so we're not going to have to cut or splice into our factory wiring it's going to be a simple plug and play installation with a couple T connectors that are going to go in behind our taillights. As well as having a diode pack that's going to protect our vehicles wiring in case of any problems that may arise or a short circuits from the motor home. Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2017 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2017 Jeep Cherokee we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Universal High Powered Diode Wiring Kit, part number RM-152. In our case, we're also gonna be using the Roadmaster 7 Wire to 6 Wire Flexco Coil Kit, part number RM-146-7. Now our Roadmaster Diode Kit is gonna allow us to use our RV's tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals on our vehicle so that we can flat tow it safely down the road. To begin our installation we're gonna start on our passenger side here and we're gonna need to remove the two fasteners holding our tail light in place. Now I'm gonna be using a T30 torque bit to remove this. Now we're just gonna kind of give our tail light a good wiggle around to loosen it up a little bit. Then we're gonna pull straight back, which will release these tabs that are holding it in place. Now I'm gonna disconnect my socket from my tail light. There's gonna be a little button right here. more

Today on our 2016 Jeep Cherokee we're going to show you how to install the Roadmaster Flexo Coil Diode Wiring Kit for a seven pole to six pole connection. Part number is RM15267. The first thing I'm going to do is take my six pole plug, I'm going to take the provided screws here. I'm going to attach that plug right to the bracket. Once that's attached we'll pull the boot off the back, and we want to slide our wiring through the boot. Now, in typical applications here you're just going to have the four wires. more

Today on this 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to show you part number RN-154. This is the Roadmaster Universal High-Powered Diode Wiring Kit. We'll go ahead and cover the parts that come in the kit. You get the 4 high-powered diodes with the terminals. These are crimp terminals, and also some butt connectors for your wires. This is a patch cord to go between your RV and your towed vehicle. This is the wire harness that gets installed on the vehicle. more

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 1997 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Today on our 1997 Jeep Cherokee, we'll be installing the Road Master Base Plate Wiring Kit, Part RM-154. To start off, we'll want end of our Road Master wiring harness through the hole in the front bumper on the driver's side. We'll use a zip tie to secure it and cut off any excess. We'll cut one of the ends of our wiring, since we'll only need one. We'll then run the cut end of the wiring up through the bumper and into the engine compartment. To make it easier, we'll use a pull wire. In this case, we're using old airline tubing. It also could be any piece of wiring that holds it's shape as well, to pull up our new wire. We'll use the airline tubing, which we'll run down through the engine compartment and out the bottom. more

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2014 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Today, on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to install part number RM-154. This is the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit. Before we do any work, want to make sure that the key is in the off position. The electronics in this vehicle are so sensitive that if you disconnect the tail lights, it could cause the computer to malfunction.Let's go ahead and open up the back hatch. Here are two fasteners that we have to remove to take off the tail light. We'll use a T30 torque bit to remove the fasteners. more
